How does Reflexology work and would it benefit me? Reflexology works with subtle energy flows, Reflexology revitalises the body so that the natural healing mechanisms of the body can do their own work.
The body is divided into ten energy zones running through the entire length of the body, each zone may be considered as a channel of energy. Working a zone in the foot with pressure from our fingers and thumbs, can help release vital energy that may be blocked in any part of the zone and corresponding part of the body, i.e by stimulating the kidneys it would also stimulate the eyes which lie in the same zone
By stimulating the neural pathways we alleviate stress by inducing deep relaxation, which allows the nervous system to calm down and function more normally. Circulation proceeds smoothly, blood flow is improved and oxygen reaches all the cells. The body becomes more balanced and the person experiences a sense of well being at all levels.
By stimulating the thousands of nerve endings in the feet it encourages an opening and clearing of neural pathways. When neural pathways are impaired nerve function is impeded and messages are delivered slowly and unreliably. The body processes then operate at less than optimum levels.
Reflexology is effective in relieving stress allowing the nervous system to calm down and function more normally. The person experiences a sense of well-being at all levels and the body returns to its natural rhythms.
Quite often clients will tell you specifically what their problems are, however we never proceed as if a session is going to cure these problems. Reflexology facilitates healing; it is not the reflexologist that cures; only the body cures.
Reflexologists do not diagnose illness; we spend extra time working the reflex on the foot that corresponds to the body part that is troubled.
Chronic long standing conditions may improve slowly.
Reflexology can be effective for many conditions such as Asthma, Anxiety, Arthritis, Congestion, Digestive Disorders, Fatigue, Hormone Imbalances, Inflammation, Kidney Disorder, Migraine, Skin Conditions and Stress
