Massage

Massage | K2U TherapiesMassage is not a technique derived from one culture but from many, for example, in China, records show the use of massage from 3000BC. Japanese massage used pressure points similar to those used in Shiatsu, which were used to improve circulation, neural efficiency and general health. In Ancient Greece, massage was part of the daily exercise and fitness routine. Hippocrates known as the father of medicine, having studied under Herodicus, (a fifth-century physician who wrote about the benefits of massage), believed all doctors needed to know how to use massage for healing purposes. Whilst in Rome, Gladiators were given massage before and after their bouts of fighting.
